When To Change Your Apple Pencil Nibs/Tips

So you've just bought your first apple pencil! CONGRATS!! 🎉🙌🏼

You've been using it for a while and now it's starting to act a little funny. OH NO! How could a $199 high tech pencil not work so great anymore??

Chances are it's your NIB! Yes! You must change those! Apple pencils last a long time but you must change the nibs to keep them working the way they should, but how do you know when to change the nibs? And WHERE should I buy them?

Here are 5 tips to know when to change your apple pencil nibs:

1. When it starts skipping or making random inconsistent marks:

Apple pencils are known for their amazing resemblance to writing like an actual pencil or pen, however no pencil skips or starts making random marks on your paper. That's a tell tell sign that umm, you might want to go ahead and change your nib. 🙃

2. When you've been using it for over one year:

Things ware down, especially if you draw EVERY waking second like I do. If you've been using your pencil for over one year everyday it's almost about that time to go ahead and change that nib. 👀

3.When your pencil becomes less responsive:

When you have to tap the screen a little harder or, multiple times to get it to respond. Chances are the pen battery might just be low, but if it's happening while the pencil has enough charge then you know what, it's the... you guessed it.. THE NIB. 👊🏾

4. When there is friction or drag:

Your apple pencil should glide across your screen that SHOULD have a matte screen protector on it, lol. If it's not gliding or it feels like it might be scratching the screen then take a look at your nib it might have some dings or scratches or it may be warped, which means you've been drawing your butt off. 💪🏾✏️ And that brings me to the last sign that it time to change that nib...

5. VISUAL DAMAGE:

If you take a look at your niv and it looks like someone has been chewing on it, mauled by hamsters, ran over, stepped on, you get the just, lol. Just go ahead and CHANGE THAT NIB!

I purchased mine from Amazon and I paid $10.99 for 4 of them. Here is the image of the exact brand I got my replacements from. 😌

These nibs work great and fit perfectly I highly recommend this brand! (Not sponsored in anyway, I wish!) If you have any questions about the apple pencil or pencil nibs, or anything else, please reach out to me! I am here to help you guys succeed!
